"Girl, Interrupted" Author Speaks at McLean Hospital

February 18, 2000 -- Belmont, MA --  Susanna Kaysen, author of the best-selling book "Girl, Interrupted," spoke about her hospitalization at McLean Hospital during the 1960s at a special academic conference held last month for McLean staff and patients.  The conference, "Psychiatric Care from the Consumer Point of View: Past, Present, and Future," attracted more than 350 attendees.  It was held the same day the movie "Girl Interrupted" based on the book opened at theaters across the country.
